Congratulations to both of these anglers.

If you do have a record claim, please ensure that you have completed the required application forms i.e. Australian Record – Australian Record Application including Merit Clubs, Thousand Pound Club (available from GFAA website), NSW Record – NSW Record Application (available from this website), World Record Application (refer to your Club Secretary), all required terminal tackle, photographs, copy of scales certification (refer to your Club Secretary) and correct filing fee (refer to this website for actual costs).

Once you have completed the claim, please forward to your Club Secretary as soon as possible who will then forward the claim onto NSWGFA, there is a two (2) month time limit from the date of capture to lodge the claim, if received after this time, the claim MAY be considered but there will be a late fee of $110.00 imposed.

Billfish Tags

By now you should have been notified through your Club that as of 1 st June 2006 , it will be mandatory for all anglers to use the “Billfish Tag” when tagging Billfish. These tags were specially designed for this use, they are easier to use and have a longer retention of tags in fish.

To obtain your tags and applicators you only need to contact your Club Secretary or Recorder who will issue you with the tags, we do ask however for your cooperation with respect to “stock piling” unused tags on the boat, the manufacture of these tags is quite expensive. Clubs do keep a register and will only issue further tags if the previous issues of tags are being used and completed cards returned to the Club for recording.

Northern Zone Competition

The Northern Zone Overnight Tournament will be held 13 th & 14 th May 2006 , this is the date of the Northern Zone Competition for the month of May and is not transferable.
